Billy had surgery on Thursday. Went really well. He was breathing on his own before the surgery but now he isn't. He has slept for the past 3 days. The only time he wakes up is when they bathe him or move him.
They have tried repeatedly to take him off the respiratory but his breathing triggers it to kick back on. He will breath on his own for a few seconds and then stop. I can compare it to a person with sleep apnea. If you know anyone who has it, then you will understand. The doctor and the nurse, we have had her all week, are really perplexed why he won't breath on his own. So am I.
He was able to go almost 24 hours without the need of the cooling blanket. What a blessing. Before it was every few hours they would have to turn it on cause his fever would spike, but here in the past few days his temperature has been "mellowing" out some.
Things are tough right now. I am trying to hold everything together, with fear I won't succeed. Mom is a wreck and Nic is scared. I just keep trucking on.
We have to have faith that God will keep us in his hands. He is in charge and He will get us through this. He brought us to it and will get us through it.
Just keep praying for our miracle. Please pray for our "friends" we have made at the hospital who are battling some of the same problems.

Still praying for you guys. God works in mysterious ways and has a reason for everything. Several in our church are praying for you guys too. Don't hesitate to let us know if you need anything.
